PlayStation App arrives November 13
Free app to arrive for iOS and Android devices ahead of PlayStation 4 launch next month; features detailed.
Sony today announced that the PlayStation App will be released for iOS and Android devices on November 13 in North America and November 22 in Europe. The app will be free.

The PlayStation App can be used as a second-screen for various PlayStation 4 games and will allow users to access numerous PlayStation Network services.
Users can access their PlayStation profile using the app and compare their Trophy accomplishments against friends and others. The PlayStation App also allows users to exchange messages across PS4, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3.
The PlayStation App also lets users browse the PlayStation website to view news, blogs, and game details.
For supported games, like preinstalled PS4 game The Playroom, the PlayStation App can be used as a second-screen device. In this game, users can draw pictures on their mobile device and the "flick" their creations onto the TV where they will be modeled in 3D.
Users can also spectate live and recorded PS4 gameplay through the PlayStation App, able to leave comments as well.
Lastly, the PlayStation App can be used to purchased content from the PlayStation Store or as a remote to control the PS4 (as long as both devices have access to the same Wi-Fi access point).
Sony also today detailed the PS4's day-one patch. It will introduce a host of features and services, including voice commands and facial recognition support, as well as Remote Play and the Share functionality.
