Studio president Chan Park revealed that characters like Kratos, Sweet Tooth, PaRappa the Rapper, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, and Fat Princess will be available in the Battle Royale beta, with players able to duke it out in venues including Dreamscape, Metropolis, Sandover Village, and Hades.

Battle Royale is due out for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, but Park did not say which platform(s) the public beta will be available on. As of press time, SuperBot had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.

Park also addressed the roster leak from last weekend. He said the studio has enjoyed reading the fan reaction, but noted that Battle Royale is still in development, and the leak does not represent the final product. The developer also said it will announce the next character for the game at GamesCom later this month.

PlayStation Plus members will score early access to the Battle Royale beta, and Park said further announcements regarding the public trial will be announced at a later date through the PlayStation Blog.

Sony also announced today that Little Big Planet for the PlayStation Vita will release on September 25.
