Planet Coaster: Console Edition Is Coming To PS5, Xbox Series X, And More This Year

Planet Coaster, the acclaimed PC exclusive themepark sim from Frontier Developments, is coming to consoles in Holiday 2020. The game is due to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year, with the next-gen versions featuring some enhancements.

A trailer and some screenshots have been released alongside the announcement, and the game will officially be titled Planet Coaster: Console Edition. It will feature the game gameplay as the PC version, but with a control scheme designed for controllers. You'll be able to build and customize your park as you see fit, building rides piece by piece.

This means that Planet Coaster will be one of the first titles available for next-gen systems. The screens below give us some insight into how it'll look on Sony and Microsoft's new systems.

Planet Coaster received a 9/10 in GameSpot's review. Reviewer Edmond Tran wrote that the game is "focused on the positivity that amusement parks can bring, one that fosters even the smallest spark of imagination and creativity."
