PixelJunk Racers taking 2nd Lap - ESRB
Ratings board hands out an E-for-Everyone for unannounced sequel to Q Games' original downloadable racer for the PS3.
With four distinct downloadable PixelJunk games under its belt, PlayStation 3 developer Q Games has already shown an inclination toward iteration. The studio has already released Encore editions of its PixelJunk Monsters and PixelJunk Eden games, with the former also being brought to the PSP in Deluxe form.
Now, Q Games looks ready to take a second look at its very first PixelJunk effort, as the Entertainment Software Rating Board has added a listing for PixelJunk Racers: 2nd Lap to its online database. Like the first, the game will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment America and released on the PS3. The ESRB has given the game an E-for-Everyone rating with a "mild cartoon violence" descriptor.
Unlike most new games added to the database, 2nd Lap doesn't have a detailed rating description attached. As such, information that could indicate whether this is another Encore-style tweak, a full-fledged sequel, or a spin-off are unknown. As of press time, a Sony representative had not responded to GameSpot's request for clarification.
