Activision's David Pass, project director of the Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle, recently told GamdSpot News that "engine reengineering" has shifted the eagerly-awaited PlayStation title's release date from fall '97 to spring '98.

"Every one of our main levels will have a new engine based upon the basic engine," said Pass. This will require that the technical team design more than a dozen engines for this title.

"We are simultaneously building three levels, and, on top of that, we are creating entirely unique engines for our bonus and boss levels," added Pass.
