Recently, a July 10 ship date for Sonic Team's anticipated RPG Phantasy Star Online Version 2 was posted on Sega's official Web site, despite the fact that the company hadn't make any official announcements regarding the game's release. GameSpot has now learned that the July 10 release date is incorrect and Sega of America has not decided on a release date for the game at this time. When reached for comment, an SOA spokesperson confirmed that the release date for Phantasy Star Online Version 2 is currently being determined and has not been announced at this time.

"Sega of America is committed to the Phantasy Star Online series and making its games accessible and affordable for US gamers," the Sega spokesperson said. "Further details on Phantasy Star Online Version 2 have not yet been announced."

Sega had previously announced that it planned to charge a fee to play Phantasy Star Online Version 2 over the Internet. However, no specific pricing information has been announced at this time. GameSpot will have more on the game in the coming weeks.
