Zen Unlimited today confirmed to GameSpot that it was going to publish Persona 4 Arena in Europe. The publisher will also be showing off the game in Europe for the first time this weekend at the MCM Expo at London's Excel centre and will be demonstrating the game on the GameSpot UK stage for those in attendance as well as those watching GameSpot's live stream.

The game hit Japanese arcades in March and is due to be out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Japan this August. The console port will feature an all-new story mode not found in the arcade version, which will work in a similar way to Arc's flagship fighting franchise, Blazblue. Persona 4: Arena is set four years after the events of the critically acclaimed RPG Persona 4.

The game will feature characters from both Persona 4 and Persona 3.

This is not the first time Arc System Works has turned someone else's franchise into a fighting game. The studio also made fighters based on a pair of popular manga/anime series, Fist of the North Star and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. However, neither of those efforts saw release in the West.

Back in February, Atlus confirmed it was bringing the console versions of Persona 4: Arena to the United States sometime this summer.
