Peacock comedy Girls5eva, about a one-hit wonder '90s group getting a career resurgence, has been renewed for Season 2 according to a tweet from the streaming service. In a video accompanying the announcement, the group jokes they're "officially two-hit wonders."

The series, created by Meredith Scardino (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Colbert Report), stars musician Sara Bareilles, Busy Philipps (Cougar Town), Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live), and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton). Tina Fey executive produces--and had a memorable cameo as Dolly Parton in the show.

"We are so excited to continue Girls5eva alongside this incredibly talented group of cast and producers," NBCUniversal television and streaming’s scripted content president Lisa Katz said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). "It was hard to miss the immediate fandom that was born after the launch of this series. This aspirational comeback story is filled with heart and friendship, perfectly blended with catchy songs and humor, and delivered by an exceptionally versatile cast. We look forward to following this group's journey as they continue to hit just the right notes."

Scardino also told The Hollywood Reporter that "if we're lucky enough [to get more seasons]... I like the idea of keeping them in the underdog world."

Peacock's roster of original content continues to grow. In June, the streaming service had the UK-imported series We Are Lady Parts join Girls5eva as another musical comedy. We Are Lady Parts follows a Muslim female punk band called Lady Parts looking for a lead guitarist and some proper success--if you loved Scott Pilgrim, you will get a huge kick out of this. Check out what all else is coming to Peacock by the end of the month.
