PC version of The Division won't be a simple port of the Xbox One and PS4 iterations
"We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high-quality experience on PC," Ubisoft Massive says.
The PC version of Splinter Cell game The Division will not be a simple port of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, Massive Entertainment said recently as part of a fan Q&A posted to the game's website.
"As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC," the developer said. "You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on."
The Malmo, Sweden-based Ubisoft Massive (formerly Massive Entertainment) created the PC-focused Ground Control and World in Conflict strategy franchises.
The Division launches in fall 2014 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Ubisoft said recently that its proprietary Snowdrop Engine will deliver an unprecedented level of realism.
