PC BIA: Earned in Blood 24K

While many in the industry believe there is a glut of World War II shooters, they just keep coming out. Case in Point: Brother in Arms: The Road to Hill 30 from Ubisoft and Gearbox software. When released in March, the game faced some stiff competition from the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty franchises. It also covered the well-trodden ground of the 1944 invasion of Normandy, the subject of many other WWII FPSes.

However, thanks to sparkling reviews and good word of mouth, Brothers in Arms sold well. In fact, it sold well enough to warrant a sequel, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, the PC version of which went gold today. The game will also be released for the Xbox on October 6, with a PlayStation 2 version to come later. All versions of the game are rated M for Mature and will retail for $49.99.

Like its predecessor, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood is set in the European theater of the most massive conflict of the 20th century. It will continue to chronicle events following the Normandy invasion through the eyes of a US Army Airborne squad leader.
