PC Batman: Arkham Asylum confined until Sept. 15

Dang! Gutted, I've been looking forward to this all month. At least its a positive delay for added physic simulation... spose a month isnt that long :0/

The demo kicks ass. Hopefully the game lives up to expectations.

im not here to negatively critisize any gaming platform .... but with my moderate personal experience , i find a PC as a worth while deal .. with the isues Xbox has (not many but still frustrating) and the price of a PS3 . U can get decen rig fr les than 500buks and (with Quads and sli 9800s with normal 800 ghz corsairs) the 3 yr min waranty with each PC componet are the reliable and multipurpose solutin fr me ... (ths just my point of view)

Actually, PC gaming is still by far the most popular gaming platform on Earth. Look it up if you don't believe me. Not just making that up, and I own a PS3 and XBOX 360 lol.

I dunno but when my friends come over to play games I dont say "everyone gather round the 20" screen". Face it pc games dont sell as good as console games. And most of us (the real world) dont have the money to fork over 2-4 thousand for a gaming rig. I will stick with my 360 that plays 10$ games. I could probably just play games on my pc,but that would be gay

Physx is a very great technology...they should perfect it and make it industry standard.

The Demo is awesome. Its sad the PC version is getting delayed. But not like my PC could handle it. I will be getting it for the one system I can 360. But I know a friend who will be mighty upset about this. Hey at least they get better graphics. But I am not a graphic nut. Give me Kingdom Hearts 2, Starcraft 1 and Metriod fusion and I will be fine. You know that had nothing to do with this news. Sorry people.

I just finished the demo. I had my reservations about this game after the rumors about Eidos trying to buy good reviews, but the gameplay actually kicks ass, I like the visuals, and the story seems tight. Unless this is like super short with no replay value, I can't see myself NOT getting it.

so now pc gamers have a new incentive to go around the levels kickin every trash can and soda bottle they find... That is SOOO going to defile the good name of Batman... Im gonna pick up the ps3 version.. and ill have finished the game 2-3 times over by the time PC physics nerds get ready tp get big nerd hard ons over how things topple over and get blown away rather than actually play the game and enjoy being Batman.. and btw the Eidos announcement sounds like a darn good excuse to have some extra time to be finishin the game on a platform clearly neglected during the actual development time ..

Bummer, that was one of the games I was looking forward to picking up this month. Now i have to make a choice between this and Red Faction in September. Eidos loss, as I have been a fan of the Red Faction series since the first one and prefer that type of game more anyway. Batman games have always been as bad as Superman games. I'll just rent this one on one of the consoles and put it on my list for sometime in the future when it hits the bargain bin.

I don't buy the PhysX excuse. They know that tons of ppl will DL the PC version for free. Smart move, since now ppl with both PC and Console will go out and buy the console version..instead of waiting.... Ill just wait

It must be hard to be a PC gamer exclusively and never be satisfied. They get better graphics potential due to more advanced hardware, free online and often free DLC, but complain about the games being delayed for a few weeks to deal with hardware optimization, which is naturally more complicated than on a console with standardized hardware.

seems like developers always have some reason to delay pc version of multiplatform games sigh... just for once I'd love to see the pc version of a multiplat game come out before the console versions

PC games are delayed but get the DLC for free, no problem with me

That's pretty cool that they'll be using PhysX, but hopefully it doesn't bug up the game like Mirrors Edge. Which has severe lag issues when PhysX is enabled. I'm not gonna hold my breath.

If it the games is gonna play better with those PHYSX tweaks then it's fine with me. Besides, I rarely buy a game as soon as it releases and without a few online reviews read by me . Only recent exception was SF IV PC but I didn't need to read a review since the game was multiplatform like this game and I pretty much knew what I was in store for. Bring it on. September is like next month so no big deal.

@RavenXavier Hmm, sorry to burst your bubble bub, but I have the option of playing virtually any game on PC. However, I prefer gaming on a console by a wide margin ... As to why? Being a PC snob I don't think you would get it so I won't elaborate. I'm sure you are so very, very proud of your little rig with its mighty powers of superior technology ... and on and on and on and on

@alkaline_DnB you should remove couch/controller/lying down/huge 1080p tv from that list because that can be done while playing pc games since before pluto was removed from the planet category

Hmmmm....let's see. ;) So, they want more time to add physics for the cans and trash in the game? Is it really that necessary? No really, is it??!! :evil: Let's hope that everything will go well coz I don't want issues with the game when it will be released. :(

@ wcw6 @ravenxavier i'd rather play laying down on a couch staring at a huge tv with 1080p that's not 2 feet from my face and play without worrying about compatibility issues, patching, crashes, or *yawn* upgrades, sorry my list goes on and on too ravenx...and beat it before it even hits pc...but that's just me. i spend all day sitting in a chair and staring at a computer screen all day and that's not what i want to do when i get home. shooters and mmos are great on pc, don't get me wrong, but u guys were all getting off topic anyway. as far as game performance, there's not a huge difference between a multi-thousand dollar computer and a console...except that it costs more to upkeep a high-end pc and devs are favoring consoles more now...it's a fact, get used to it.

Let me guess this staright they are gonna deny the PC gaming community this game for a few more weeks because they are hard at work to introduce and trash - soda can kicking relastic physics !!!!!!!!!! Why dont they forget about that because while playing the game kicking garbage will be the last thing on my mind. Well to PC gamers hope its worth the wait.

That's not so bad a delay, it's annoying to be sure but it could be a LOT worse (like the 3 or so month delay between Red Faction Guerilla for the consoles and for the PC)

You can get a decent console, with a mid-range graphics card, well into the 500-600 range.I'm really not a PC gamer though, but I find it disappointing that a lot of PC gamers are quick to post a diss to console owners, saying that they can play the game with a much better framerate, higher resolution, modding, etc., so that's the only issue I have with people who game on PCs. I say to each his own.
