Ahead of Payday 3's release date later in September, Starbreeze has released a content roadmap for the game's first year.

Details of the DLCs are scant, as the roadmap only shows a name and a couple images for each update. The game's Year 1 is called The Bad Apple, themed around New York City. The roadmap lists four DLCs: Syntax Error in Winter 2023, Boys In Blue in Spring 2024, The Land Of The Free in Summer 2024, and Fear And Greed in Fall 2024. The provided images don't elaborate much more than the titles, but it's clear that the DLC will add missions based around hacking into servers and combating police forces.

A variety of other updates will also release during the same time frame. Other updates will include seasonal events, new playable characters, cosmetics, skill lines, features, enemies, and weapons. The game will also receive additional quality of life changes and an update for Unreal 5. No specific release window has been revealed.

Payday 3's open beta will run from September 8-11. In the open beta, you can try out one heist called "No Rest For The Wicked" and play as one of four characters: Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf. The beta is based on a build from April 2023 and does not represent the final game. Payday 3 will release on September 18.
