"Payday 2--just like its predecessor Payday: The Heist--is a living thing. We have five DLCs planned together with 505 Games for the coming year," he said.

The game will be continually updated with paid and free content, "just like we did with the first game," Goldfarb added.

The designer also suggested that modding support could come to Payday 2 down the line. Goldfarb said Overkill Software would "love to add support for creating community-generated content," but nothing official is in place yet.

Payday 2 launched this week digitally and at traditional brick-and-mortar retailers. The game was profitable before it even launched, thanks to its preorder campaign.
