Overwatch's Uprising Event Extended After Ending Too Early

"The mission ain't over yet!"

Blizzard has extended Overwatch's latest seasonal event, Uprising, after the event ended today earlier than the studio said it would. Some fans were not happy about this.

The event ended early by accident, Blizzard admitted in a message posted to Twitter. Uprising's Loot Boxes have since been restored, with the King's Row Brawl event taking a little longer to return, but it should be back now if it's not already. Players who are logged in may need to log out to log in again to see the return of the King's Row event.

The Uprising event is now scheduled to end on May 2 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.

This isn't the first time an Overwatch event accidentally ended early. The one before this, themed around Halloween, finished too soon, causing a stir in the Overwatch community.

Uprising has been running in Overwatch across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC since early April. No future seasonal events have been announced, but given their popularity, you can bet they will happen.

In other Overwatch news, Blizzard recently announced that the game has crossed 30 million players.
