Update: Following a series of leaks, Overwatch's Halloween update has been confirmed, and it's live now on all platforms. As suspected, it introduces new Loot Boxes with Halloween-themed content, such as skins and victory poses. Notably, these items can be purchased with in-game currency, unlike what was offered during the Summer Games event. You get a free Loot box just for logging in. You can see photos of much of the new content here.

Additionally, the update introduces a co-op Brawl mode where you'll fight against computer-controlled enemy characters.

Original Story: Further evidence has emerged that Halloween Loot Boxes are on the way to Overwatch soon.

Following a recent leak by the Xbox Store, which revealed that seasonal Loot Boxes would provide new Halloween-themed items, Sony also confirmed their existence. The European PlayStation Blog's post (via Polygon) on what's coming to the PlayStation Store this week lists Halloween Loot Boxes as arriving on Wednesday, October 12. They'll be available for purchase in quantities of 2, 5, 11, and 24.

No further details are provided, but this suggests the Xbox leak is indeed true. According to that, the Halloween Loot Boxes will include new skins, highlight intros, emotes, victory poses, voice lines, and player icons. They'll presumably work like the special Summer Games Loot Boxes offered back in August.

With the Loot Boxes arriving on PSN tomorrow, the launch of the Halloween event should be coming soon. We don't yet know what else it will consist of--including whether there will be a special, Lucioball-esque Brawl mode--but details should be arriving soon if this all proves to be accurate.
