Overwatch Wins Game Of The Year; Full List Of GDCA And IGFA Winners Here [UPDATE]

We may already be more than two months into 2017, but the industry is still celebrating 2016's games. The Game Developers Choice Awards and Independent Games Festival Awards take place tonight in San Francisco as part of the Game Developers Conference.

The event kicks off at 6:30 PM PT / 9:30 PM ET, and you will be able to watch it live right here. We will add the Twitch streaming link as the show's start time draws closer.

UPDATE: Overwatch takes home the Game Developers Choice Game of the Year Award, and Quadrilateral Cowboy secures the Independent Games Festival Seumas McNally Grand Prize.

Leading the way for the Game Developers Choice Awards was Playdead's Inside, which picked up six nominations, including Best Audio, Best Design, Best Narrative, Best Visual Art, the Innovation Award, and Game of the Year.

Games that received five nominations each included Overwatch and Firewatch, while Uncharted 4: A Thief's End picked up four nominations; all of those were nominated for Game of the Year, alongside Bethesda's Dishonored 2.

For the IGF Awards, the top prize is the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Nominees for that coveted award include Inside, Stardew Valley, Quadrilateral Cowboy, Event[0], Hyper Light Drifter, and Overcooked. In addition to the award, the winner gets a cash prize of $30,000.
