Outriders Login Screen Stuck Bug Has A Boring Temporary Fix

Just be patient and you'll be able to play.

Outriders officially released today for consoles, Stadia, and PC, and some players are seeing a bug that makes the login screen stuck when they try to start it up. People Can Fly is investigating the issue, but you can still play the game in the meantime if you're patient. And on PS5, there's an even more ingenious workaround.

The issue occurs just as players are trying to sign into the game, hanging on a login screen instead of letting them play. The temporary fix to this? Just wait. Players who sat and waited for a few minutes were able to get it in, while someone else reported success by hitting the login button several times just before that screen appeared. One of our own here at GameSpot was able to get in by using the waiting method.

Now Playing: Outriders' Coolest Weapons And Abilities

On PS5, you also appear to be able to get around the issue by using the activity cards on the system's menu instead of entering the game the standard way. Selecting "resume chapter" prior to actually loading up Outriders will let you jump right in, avoiding the waiting time completely.

It's an annoying problem to encounter at launch, for sure, though online-enabled games with cooperative play often have little hiccups out of the gate. On PlayStation systems, Stadia, and PC, Outriders is a full-priced game. It's also available to purchase outright for Xbox, but those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription can play it completely free on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now. With cross-play support, you can also play with friends on other platforms, but the feature has been temporarily disabled as People Can Fly works to fix some backend issues. You can use our Outriders day 1 guide to help get you started with your class, loot, and more.
