Original Resident Evil comes to the GameCube

Capcom is remaking the original Resident Evil for release on the Nintendo GameCube. See the first stunning screens and video from the game inside.

Capcom has announced that it plans to release an updated version of the original Resident Evil exlusively for the Nintendo GameCube. In terms of the GameCube specific enhancements, the majority of the changes will be made in the game's visuals. As seen in the screens, the game will use ultra-detailed character models and richly textured backgrounds. Aside from the significant visual improvements, new story elements will also be introduced in the game. Resident Evil for the GameCube will be released on March, 22 2002 in Japan. A North American release date has not been announced at this time. Capcom is also developing Resident Evil Zero exclusively for Nintendo's console, and will also release additional remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and Resident Evil 3 Nemesis on the GameCube.
