The twelve first-round winners of the Half-Life: Opposing Force Live the Dream Tournament will duel over the Halloween weekend. The winners will participate in the live championship event in San Francisco on November 10.

The championship match, to be held at the Club-i, will be the first time players will play (and compete) using Half-Life: Opposing Force, the new official add-on disk for Sierra's Half-Life, developed by Gearbox Software. The tournament will be hosted by WON.net and the Clan World Network.

"This contest offers Half-Life fans a cool way to get involved with the launch of Opposing Force," says Scott Fasser, product manager at WON.net. "We think this is a great opportunity for fans to test their skills playing a totally new game for the very first time."

WON.net also plans to launch new support sections for Opposing Force on Thursday. It will provide online support for the large numbers of anticipated multiplayer games, like Half-Life, that are virtually guaranteed to form once the episodic add-on is released.
