Operation Flashpoint Gold pulled off shelves
The North American version of Codemasters' tactical action game compilation has a flaw that prevents it from loading.
Codemasters has announced that the North American version of Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition contains a flaw that prevents it from loading. The problem does not affect the Gold Upgrade or any other versions of Operation Flashpoint. The publisher is withdrawing the game from sale in North America until a corrected version can be released next week.
Those who have already purchased a flawed copy of the game are asked to contact Codemasters USA customer service at support@codemastersusa.com. For more information, visit the Operation Flashpoint technical support Web page.
Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis was developed by Bohemia Interactive and released by Codemasters in August. The game lets players assume the role of a NATO soldier on a peacekeeping mission during the fall of the Soviet Union. In addition to combat on foot, the game lets players fight from jeeps, tanks, and aircraft.
Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition was released in North America last week and includes the full version of the original game, along with several upgrades and the complete Red Hammer expansion. The game is now available in stores for an approximate retail price of $44.99. For more information about the game, read our full review.
