While Disney has confirmed which actors will star as Marvel's first family when the Fantastic Four movie hits theaters in 2025, there's been no word yet on who'll be playing their greatest nemesis, Doctor Doom, or if he'll even appear in the film. At least one well-known actor is already lobbying for the role, as Ben Mendelsohn really wants to play the Latverian monarch on the big screen.

"I would almost give my eyes and teeth to play Doctor Doom," Mendelsohn said to GQ. "I think Doctor Doom is the great unread Marvel character that could and should be done. But it is what it is."

Several actors have played Doom over the years, as he has been the most recognizable villain to pit against the Fantastic Four. Roger Corman's unreleased Fantastic Four movie starred Joseph Culp as Doom, while Tim Story's Fantastic Four movies featured Julian McMahon under the metal mask. In Josh Trank's 2015 reboot, Toby Kebbell played the antagonist.

In the comics, Doctor Doom has gradually evolved to become one of the most dangerous characters in all of Marvel Comics. He's a scientific genius, a master of the mystic arts, and he wields the unfathomable power of diplomatic immunity as the sovereign ruler of Latveria. Yes, even the puny laws of humanity bend the knee to Doom.

As for Mendelsohn, he's no stranger to playing a villainous role. He was the dapper Director Orson Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and he played the Skrull Talos in MCU projects like Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Secret Invasion. Fantastic Four is scheduled to arrive on July 25, 2025, and stars Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.

Thunderbolts will be released two months earlier on May 2 after it swapped dates with the Richards family.
