On Deck Interactive folds
The value-game division of Gathering of Developers closes up shop, but no games currently in development will be affected.
Gathering of Developers has confirmed that its value-game division, On Deck Interactive, is closing. All games currently in development by On Deck will be released by Gathering of Developers instead, with no anticipated changes in release dates or retail prices. The closure is a result of On Deck's CEO leaving the company to pursue other interests. No further details were available.
On Deck Interactive was formed in May 2000 to act as a "farm league" for new developers. It was publishing the first-person shooter Serious Sam, which is scheduled for release on March 15, and the hunting game Duke Nukem: Endangered Species, which is scheduled for release this summer.
