OG's Topson is heading to PVP @ Singapore Comic Con - Our Interview

Topias Miikka "Topson" Taavitsainen is one of the best Dota 2 players in the world; there's no doubt about that. He's a critical member of OG — the two-time TI Champions — so you know he's got to be right up there. There are some who would argue he's the best player on OG — although he wouldn't agree, as you'll soon see. What's not up for debate is that he's one of the flashiest players in the world.

(Produced in partnership with ReedPOP) The Finnish Solo Mid for OG shocked the Dota 2 world when he walked directly into Newbee's fountain and forced them to give up in one of the most dominant displays in The International history. And this weekend esports fans heading to PVP @ Singapore Comic Con will get the chance to meet the legend himself, as he is participating in a meet'n'greet with fans live from the show — one of the many can't-miss events from PVP @ Singapore Comic Con.

We were lucky enough to have a light-hearted chat with him ahead of his appearance this weekend!

GameSpot: How many times do you kiss the aegis every day?

Topson: Well actually I didn’t get the aegis so no kisses :(

GS: Which Aegis do you prefer? Why?

Topson: The first TI win definitely felt better.

GS: Has the reality of being a 2-Time World Champion hit you yet? What is it like?

Topson: I don’t know if it has really sunk in yet. Sometimes I look back two years and I’m amazed how much has happened in such a short time. Of course, it’s nice that all the hard work that’s been put into it has finally paid off.

GS: Are you a cat person or a dog person? Why?

Topson: I’m a dog person. I always liked dogs more and we had one at home so maybe that’s why.

GS: Who do you think was OG's MVP at The International this year?

Topson: To be honest I don’t think one player can be named MVP because everyone in the team is equally important.

GS: What is the team dynamic like?

Topson: We have great dynamic, everybody gets to be in their comfort zone and we all know our roles in the team.

GS: What does it take to be a successful midlaner?

Topson: You need to be very disciplined and always looking to improve and learn from others.

GS: You’ve had some time off from Dota 2. How has the experience been like for you?

Topson: It’s been great to have some time off to just rethink what do I want to do and setting new goals to keep myself motivated.

GS: On the topic of Comic Con, Manga or Comics? Why?

Topson: I haven’t ever read any manga so I will go with comics.

GS: You’re coming to Singapore soon; Singapore is famous for its Singlish. What do you think the following Singlish sentence means? “Wah sian lah. Kenna gank again.” Don’t worry, give it your best shot.

Topson: I have no idea :D

GS: Is there any food that you are eager to try in Singapore?

Topson: There's not really anything specific!

GS: Are you looking forward to playing Dota 2 in the SEA servers from Singapore?

Topson: Yeah it’s always great to play in SEA because there are so many fans here!

GS: What advice would you give to aspiring Dota 2 Players in Southeast Asia who want to make it big in the pro scene?

Topson: Dream big and don’t be afraid to take risks but always have a plan B if things don’t go as planned!

GS: Is there anything you would like to say to fans waiting to meet you at Singapore Comic Con?

Topson: Can’t wait to meet all of you and thank you very much for all the support!

So there you have it — you're now freed up to ask Topson anything else when you head to the meet'n'greet with him! Maybe ask him how you can join OG Seed, their newest team of up-and-coming Dota 2 superstars. After all, Topson started as a PubStar himself, right!

And if you want more Dota 2 action, the PVP Corporate League Dota 2 Finals between Teletubbies and Team GTR take place on Saturday at the show!

Topson's just one part of what will be an amazing weekend at PVP @ Singapore Comic Con, but you'll have to be there if you want to experience it! Tickets are available at www.singaporecomiccon.com. For more information, check out www.pvpesports.gg!
