DirectX 12 Ultimate aims to streamline many new next-gen rendering features across a broader spectrum of engines, including more performant ray-tracing, variable-rate shading, mesh shading, and more. Its benefits won't be seen in games just yet, but this update ensures Nvidia is as up-to-date with Microsoft's API updates as it was with the dawn of ray-tracing and DirectX 12 in 2018.

The update also adds performance improvements for three games specifically, some of which are releasing imminently. Valorant, the new competitive shooter from League of Legends developer Riot Games, launches on June 2, and today's driver update should ensure the best performance at launch. The driver also adds optimizations for Amazon's Crucible, which launched last week, as well as Minecraft Dungeons, which launches today on Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass.

You can download the latest drivers here, or through Nvidia's Geforce Experience.
