November 2019 PS Plus: Free PS4 Games For Members This Month

Outlast 2 and Nioh can be yours.

This month's free PS4 games for PlayStation Plus subscribers are a pair of great releases you'll want to grab before the month is over, as long as you've got the stomach for the very different kinds of challenge they represent. If you have an active PS Plus members, you can download the brutally difficulty action-RPG Nioh, as well as the first-person horror game Outlast 2. With Nioh 2 hitting next year, now's a good time to catch up on the original, and horror fans will get a kick out of Outlast 2's scares. Make sure that you jump onto the PlayStation Store this November if you're a subscriber.

Nioh is set in fictional feudal Japan and puts you in the shoes of William Adams who--in-game and in real life--is the first Western samurai. Its gameplay is very comparable to the Dark Souls series, with challenging combat, huge open levels, and big bosses that will likely kick your butt. Our Nioh review scored it a 9/10 and called it an "effective and engrossing spin on Dark Souls-inspired combat and exploration." A sequel, Nioh 2, is on the way.

Gigantic bosses can cause dread, but the second PS Plus game inspires pure terror. Outlast 2 is a first-person trek through one terrifying area after another. After a helicopter accident, your wife goes missing in a creepy remote region that's full of disfigured cultists looking to murder anyone they find. Equipped with your trusty camcorder, you must utilize its night-vision and recording functionality to sneak, survive, and save your wife. GameSpot's Outlast 2 review compared the game to "a ride through a really amazing haunted house," scoring it a 7/10.

Both games joined the PS Plus lineup on November 5 and will be available until December's free PS4 games arrive on December 3. You can add them to your basket through the links below and checkout. After that, they're yours to play for as long as you're subscribed to PlayStation Plus.

If you're also subscribed to Xbox Live Gold, then be sure to check out the free Games With Gold for November 2019.

@darkallah: not everyone..

But it's disgusting that as PS+ & /or Xbox Gold

doesn't give us all the games that we're previously available instead of games we claimed..

Both companies are gonna struggle with these in future.(hopefully)

Played and finished both, oh well. Was very impressed with Nioh and its DLC though for those that have yet to try it, be patient, it's no cake walk!

Outlast 2, well it looks great but the first was much better I thought.

I dropped my PS+ subscription a couple of years ago. If you're not into playing online multiplayer, PSNow is a much better value for "free" games. I personally prefer the single-player experience because I'm more interested in games with a good immersive story, exploration and finding secrets, and solving puzzles that actually make you think.

@screamingsatori: i mostly play sp too, but i got a year of psplus for 29.99 from a trusted cdkey site, and they normally go on sale 3-4 times a year.

i also get £200 digital cash for around 130 during deals. but i stopped doing that when i was finding myself looking for games to spend it on, instead of being patient >.>

@screamingsatori: GREAT POST M'DUDE!!!!

**REMEMBER~WE DON'T OWN THESE PLAYSTATION PLUS

AND XBOX GOLD GAMES!!!

The second we stop paying for the membership= you can't play them!!!!!

So PlayStation Now is the same thing except better because you get a crap load..

~~Ther argument against this pov is but I already own 200+ games via PS+..

*PlayStation Pl;us should give PS Now members access to ALL ps+ games you own already so people don't need to double dip...

REMINDER~ BLACK FRIDAY= RE UP for the whole year on Xbox Live Gold & Plasystation Plus...

(LMAO @ the fanboy who my mentioning 'Xbox' offended)

I don't think ive seen any discounts on PS Now..

~I agree with you 100% but haven't subscribed to PS NOW since it launched and I never even played 1 game in the 3 months I had it..

~But now the library is a lot bigger...Esp with PS1 +PS2 games.

~Not sure if there's a lot of PS3 games or not..

Wish they'd stop calling them free games. You pay for ps plus to get them and you lose them once your subscription runs out.

Dammit. Zero interest in both games.

Played Nioh at a friend's house. Got bored to death.

Outlast 2 seems to be the same thing as the first one. So i will give it a try, but don't really expect much.

Free? I'm wondering how you guys obtain PS+, I have to pay for it.

Either way these monthly paid games from a paid subscription service seem alright, Nioh at least has my interest but they'll have to wait until I'm done with Luigi's Mansion and Death Stranding.

@reznik00: Yeah, the "free" thing should really stop. It's not technically free. It's really more like added value. Granted, Nioh alone is worth $60, so it's good value.

Now this truly is an early Christmas treat.

Nioh was one of the more memorable titles when it dropped so its great that gamers who perhaps missed out when it released don’t risk anything (other than their sanity.) in diving into this Souls inspired title.

While I have some issues with the whole “run and hide” genre popularized by Outlast and Amnesia Outlast 2 is a great free addition to what is a stellar PSplus month.

Just gotta’ be sure to finish them both before Death Stranding drops.

😉

What's ps plus, is that like gold free with no game pass bundled into the online play with unlimited games to play offline on pc and Xbox and on cloud, I might buy a PS4 it sounds amazing.

@aross2004: To be fair, Game Pass Ultimate is a terrific value even if it wasn't just $1 right now.

@Barighm: To be even more fair, PSNow is an even better value at $60 a year ($5/month) with 800+ games, including about 350 PS4 games that are downloadable.

For the record, I have both PSNow and GamePass Ultimate, and they're BOTH great values.

Quality offerings again this month but I won't get to play these for a while yet, Death Stranding will take up most of my time next month but they are going onto my backlog for sure.

I don't like this statement. I have platinum in Soulsborne, except DS3, and I don't like Nioh. I can't put my finger on why but it just feels meh.

@toffifee: I find Nioh to be much much better than any Souls game in terms of gameplay. Its faster and more varied. Souls game have excellent atmosphere, locations, lore, soundtrack etc. way better than Nioh in that regard.

@toffifee: I've gone through Demon Souls, DS1-3, and Bloodborne and I still loved Nioh. Nioh is still relatively similar to those games.

Absolutely very similar, but I think it lacks something and as such I can't say that people that love DS will love Nioh. The Surge and Lords of the Fallen are also very similar games, but again they lack something.
