NovaLogic to Train US Marines?

A US Marine Corps sergeant has chosen NovaLogic's Delta Force 2 as a possible tactical training simulator.

Comments

Gamers playing NovaLogic's Delta Force 2 might be unknowingly handling a simulator that'll be used to train US soldiers. That's because US Marine Corps Master Sergeant George Caldwell is currently putting into place a training regiment that uses NovaLogic's tactical combat game as a potential training tool for his troops.

"This type of training is not meant to replace real field training and operations by any stretch of the imagination," said Caldwell. " I hope that the Marine Corps will view this as a way of augmenting existing training by taking advantage of down time that is an ever-increasing factor due to fuel, transport, ammunition, time, and training-area constraints."

Caldwell will start his virtual training program at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, where ten of his Marines will engage in deathmatch and cooperative sessions using Delta Force 2. Caldwell hopes that the US Marines will adopt his program on a larger scale soon.
