Norman Reedus Injured On The Walking Dead Set

The wrap day for the long-running series has been postponed.

Actor Norman Reedus has suffered a "minor" concussion on the set of The Walking Dead. Jeffrey Chassen, the actor's spokesperson, confirmed the news to Deadline on Wednesday.

"He is recovering well and will return to work soon," said Chassen.

As of this writing, the circumstances surrounding the injury are still unclear. It has not yet been revealed whether the incident occurred while Reedus was filming or just on set. The news initially came out via Fandemic Tour, a Florida-based comic and pop culture convention where Reedus and other castmates were slated to appear this coming weekend. The convention posted news of the cancellation on March 15, along with the fact that Reedus "wants you to know how terrible he feels about the situation."

The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Melissa McBride, Seth Gilliam, Cailey Fleming, David Morrissey, and Sarah Wayne Callies are still scheduled to appear at the event, taking place in Atlanta, Georgia's Georgia World Congress Center this weekend.

The injury also has repercussions for the long-running series, which as a result had to postpone its intended final wrap day.

Elsewhere in the franchise, announcements continue to pop up about other spin-offs and limited series. On March 7, the six-episode limited series Isle of the Dead--the realization of a series first discussed back in 2019--was officially slated for a debut in 2023.
