Nobunaga's Ambition Online beta test in Japan

Beta test applications for Koei's upcoming MMORPG for the PlayStation 2 are now open to residents in Japan.

On Monday, Koei announced that it has begun accepting applications for the beta test of its upcoming MMORPG Nobunaga's Ambition Online for the PlayStation 2. Applicants must be Japanese residents, and requirements include the PlayStation 2 BB unit, BB Navigator, broadband Internet connectivity, and an e-mail address. The beta test is scheduled to begin this August, and the company expects around 10,000 testers.

Nobunaga's Ambition Online takes place in 16th-century feudal Japan. Players will create their own character by choosing from seven different classes, such as a samurai or mage, and a number of different factions. The game is expected to release sometime this fall in Japan.
