Billie Eilish, who sings the excellent theme song for 2020's new James Bond movie, No Time To Die, was able to see a cut of the film before recording the song. Speaking to Good Morning America, alongside her brother/collaborator Finneas O'Connell and legendary composer Hans Zimmer (who was brought in to work on the film at the last minute in January 2020), it's confirmed that Eilish saw a cut of the movie early. [Update: She'll have to keep things secret for a while longer, as No Time to Die has been delayed and will now release in November, rather than April.]

O'Connell says that they were given "essentially total creative freedom" over the song, and that they wanted it to have the same name as the film--they lucked out that it "wasn't called Quantum of Solace."

Eilish says that she and her brother have talked about wanting to create a Bond theme for "years," and Hans Zimmer, who asked them to fly out to see an assembly cut of the film, is a huge fan of the theme. "I loved it from the moment I heard it," he says. "It got under my skin and stayed there."

No Time To Die arrives in cinemas on April 8. New footage recently emerged in, of all things, a Land Rover commercial. The film's premiere in China has been cancelled due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
