In a move that won't shock anyone who's been keeping up with things, Donovan McNabb has been named cover athlete for Madden NFL 06. Though EA kept their mouths shut over the past few weeks, this news actually leaked in unconfirmed format a while back, after a report in Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal pegged McNabb for the cover. Before this report, I had my money on Peyton Manning as cover star--as the Colts' QB perhaps perfectly embodies the pass-happy approach Madden is aiming for this time around. Still, it's hard to argue against McNabb, a guy who's got loads of skills in his own right, no matter what Terrell Owens thinks these days.
