Known in Japan as Mario & Luigi RPG: Paper Mario MIX, it is the fifth game in the RPG series, and puts a twist on the formula by crossing over the traditional Mario universe with the Paper universe. Players will be able to take control of Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario.
"Characters from the Paper Mario universe, including Paper Mario, Princess Peach, Bowser and Toad, jump out of a book and into the world of Mario & Luigi, resulting in hilarious and dangerous hijinks," Nintendo says on the game's product page.
As is the case in the previous Paper Mario games, players must solve puzzles and complete quests to bring down Bowser, who has gathered an army of foes.
"Paper Mario has unique abilities, such as turning into a paper aeroplane, slipping through cracks or creating copies of himself," Nintendo says. "Use all three characters together to successfully pull off trio moves and trio attacks, and continue onwards on your adventure."
Paper Jam Bros. also introduces the new Paper Craft Battles, which lets players take out enemies using the power of dance.
"Craft battles see our heroes take part in rhythm-based events in order to power a giant papercraft and use it to defeat giant papercrafts from Bowser’s army."
