Nintendo WaveBird controller flies into stores
Nintendo's WaveBird wireless controller shipped to stores today.
Nintendo's WaveBird wireless controller, which was shown as part of Shigeru Miyamoto's connectivity presentation at this year's E3, has finally shipped to stores. The controller lets players enjoy their games without the hassles of tangling cables from a distance of over 30 feet. The controller also reportedly can be used through obstructions like walls, without compromising its effectiveness. Two AA batteries power the controller for up to 100 hours, and four controllers can be set up on the same GameCube system by switching between the 16 available frequencies on the WaveBird's infrared receiver. The WaveBird controller is currently available for a suggested retail price of $34.99.
