Nintendo of Japan has announced that it will be selling a new GameCube package starting next month in Japan. Labeled the "Enjoy Plus Pack," the new GameCube package will come bundled with a Game Boy Player, which is an adapter that can be attached to the bottom of the GameCube to play Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games on a TV screen. The package will be available in all four colors--black, silver, violet, and orange. Nintendo said that its new package is promoting its upcoming "link and connect" play style, which will involve simultaneously utilizing games on the GameCube and Game Boy Advance.

According to retailers, Nintendo is scheduled to recall all the GameCube consoles currently on the shelves in preparation for the release of the new package. The Enjoy Plus Pack is scheduled for release in June 21 and will be priced at 19,800 yen ($170). The Game Boy Player will still be available for purchase separately as well, at 5,000 yen ($42).
