Now Playing: GS News Update: Fire Emblem Switch and 3DS News Roundup

During today's Fire Emblem Direct presentation, Nintendo teased that a new Fire Emblem game is on the way for Switch. Separate from the newly announced 3DS game Fire Emblem Echoes and the action-focused Fire Emblem Warriors, this will be a unique entry for Switch.

The only information released so far is that it's due sometime in 2018. We'll update this story with more details if and when they're provided by Nintendo.

Update: In a statement from Nintendo PR, the company provided the following information about the untitled game: "For the first time since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Wii console in 2007, a new mainline game in the series is being developed for a Nintendo home system, with the ability to also be played on the go! The new game is scheduled to launch in 2018."
