Nintendo Switch EShop Adds Another New Game Today

This is an excellent port of Metal Slug 3, which is probably the best of the Metal Slug series. I love how well these Neo Geo games run on the switch. Plus the price is excellent!

Does anyone remember the game skate or die ?? I was hoping they would revive that game .

Why not just release metal slug 6? So tired of Metal slug 1-3. And out of the King of fighters saga they picked 98 and not 2000 and up? I mean there's also a improved version of KOF98 on the PS2 which was only released in japan if anyone needs to be informed. I'm more interested in them rolling out Virtua Console games since i skipped Wii and Wii U.

I bought it for my previous Nintendo system(s) from the eStore. I'm not buying it again. Stop scamming people, Nintendo. Any game(s) customers bought from the Nintendo eStore (NES, SNES, Gameboy Advance, etc) should be available to re-download and play for the Nintendo Switch. Otherwise, what's the point of having a Nintendo account?

$8 is a bit expensive for Metal Slug.

I want some Nintendo classics in this eshop. My daughter has brought be back to the good old days of gaming. I haven't played a Nintendo system in years because they've all gone batshit crazy over there. The Switch however seems like one person in that company snuck a good idea into production. Let's keep rolling with it. Let's bring out things THEY KNOW we want and not what their Insanely stubborn Japanese elders say they should.

Let's stop fluking the success now Nintendo and just do it right.

I hope instead releasing trash games they just focus on release the virtual console as quickly as possible .

Wished the the Metal Slug Anthology, SNK Arcade Classics, Samurai Shodown Anthology and the King of Fighters Collection came to the Switch instead of offering these games individually.

Metal Slug was a great series. As good as the original Contra was for me. I'd be interested in playing Metal Slug again to see if I still love it as much but on my PC. I'm not paying 300+ dollars for a portable console to play a game I enjoyed as a early teenager. I bought the switch, tried it for about 20 hours and sold it.

I was on the fence about selling it, right until I docked it and saw how horrible it looked on my 55inch 4k TV. Even portable it's just okay and I wouldn't use it much for that purpose. If Nintendo would have charged 100 dollars more? Made it more powerful to play current AAA games? With graphics above resolution from 2008 it would have been a winner. I can see why some like it and I understand sales are good now.

But those sales will drop badly once the Switch gets out in the market more. Long term sales I expect the Switch to sit slightly above lifetime Wii U sales. People who don't like the Switch or what you like Nintendo fans usually aren't trolling. We just don't like it for logical reasons you won't accept.

3DS XL is the only great Nintendo system they have released in years for gamers. The Wii U I liked but didn't make much sense with it's design. The Wii was a gimmick machine that focused mainly on mainstream people who were non gamers. I'd argue the Game Cube was the last great console Nintendo made for it's fans and gamers. I'd also say it had the best design of any console ever as well.

The fact is Nintendo is getting by with it's greatness of the distant pass, and found childhood memories. We all loved the N64, Super Nintendo and Original NES. However the past 15 years they had made some very questionable moves and abandoned their core fans. If you take away the lightning in the bottle that was the Wii? Just ouch.

YES!!! Can't wait to play Metal Slug on the Switch...it's going to be so much better than it was on the PS3 and Xbox 360...and Wii...and Steam....and my Launchbox. Another system seller! Keep up the great work!

Btw, I love Metal Slug...definitely a great way to make 45 minutes quickly disappear on a plane.

They need to package all these ACA NeoGeo series at some point in the future. Then I'll get all of them at the same time :)

OK....... I really didn't want a Switch before. But NOW........well, THIS changes EVERYTHING !!!!

I love the fact that the Switch is getting Neo Geo games. This makes it more appealing to old school gamers and games who never had a chance to experience what the Neo Geo offered. I only wish that Switch continues to further expand their eShop, and once their Virtual Console is online, they work hard to keep that library growing. There's definite appeal in the Switch, but Nintendo has got to stop being complacent.

I'd say to eschew the clickbaity titles if you actually had meaty journalism worth reading, but it seems you need to garnish and generate your clicks in other fashions.

Would like to see a Metal Slug re-hash. Hell I'd like to see a lot of Neo Geo gems redone for current gen, but they are still great in their own right
