Nintendo has announced that the official name for the upcoming GameCube Legend of Zelda game will be The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. In the game, players will once again take on the role of Link as he attempts to rescue his sister, who has been captured by an enormous bird. The title of the game refers directly to Link's ability to control the direction of the wind by conducting music with his baton, which comes into play while riding in Link's boat. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker also supports the GameCube and Game Boy Advance connectivity feature, which grants players access to new items, as well as the "tingle-bomb," which can be used to open up new areas.

The North American version of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is scheduled for release in February.
