Nintendo Indie World: Biggest Announcements From December 2020's Nintendo Direct
Here's all of the big game reveals, including Among Us and Spelunky 2 for Switch.
Nintendo has premiered its December 2020 Indie World stream, providing us with what's likely our last Nintendo Direct-style event of the year. As promised, it ran about 15 minutes and delivered news on a variety of Nintendo Switch games from various indie developers. While the focus was on games coming in 2021, there are a few that are releasing today on the eShop.
Here's a look at the biggest announcements from the event. You can also rewatch the stream below.
One of 2020's biggest games has been Among Us, a game that originally released two years ago. Nevertheless, its social deception nature and online multiplayer support has made it a smash hit during quarantine, and now you'll be able to play Among Us on Nintendo Switch--it releases today.
Spelunky And Spelunky 2
The Spelunky series--which is to say, Spelunky and Spelunky 2--are coming to Nintendo Switch next summer. This marks the first time either game has been available on a Nintendo platform. Each game will support multiplayer, with Spelunky 2 including online multiplayer support.
Even a year later, Grindstone is perhaps the standout game on Apple Arcade, but starting today, you'll be able to play it on Nintendo Switch. This marks the game's console debut.
Super Meat Boy Forever
Following the recent announcement of a PC release date, we now know that Super Meat Boy Forever will release simultaneously for Nintendo Switch on December 23. The long-awaited Meat Boy follow-up will be a console exclusive for Switch at launch.
Upcoming retro-style action game Cyber Shadow is releasing for Switch in January. When it arrives, you'll even be able to use your Shovel Knight Amiibo in the game, as made possible by publisher Yacht Club Games, the developer of Shovel Knight.
