You know, pretty much the only thing I walked away with this week in regards to Nintendo was "no MH for Switch in US." Nice fumble Nintendo. I don't know what it is you would have had to do to encourage Capcom to localize a game that they are ALREADY making for your borderline gameless console, but you should have done it.

C'mon Animal Crossing!

Avatar image for DrYuya

Nintendo sucks...cant for the life of me understand why anyone cares about anything this kiddie company does anymore.

Avatar image for Ohaidere

@DrYuya: Honestly, I think it's because it's tough to find games that just focus on being games. Many modern games are more like interactive movies, and there's just not a ton of depth in terms of gameplay or content (RE6, FFXV, AC, CoD).

For me, Nintendo's handhelds have kind of filled that niche. The weaker hardware forces developers to focus on gameplay and content instead of brute spectacle. Mario 3D Land was a brilliant take on 3d platforms. MH4u has a ridiculous amount of content and depth of gameplay. Zelda Link Between Worlds was one of the best games I've ever played, on any platform.

But they're video games that are meant to be video games. They don't have an identity crisis. I love my PS4, but shallow games on the main consoles have been a trend for a long time.

@DrYuya: I felt the same way in my edgy teenage/college years (don't know if you are one or not, and this is honestly not an attack, just a statement). Amusingly, I think I appreciated Nintendo when I was little and only cared about fun, and in the last few years, when again I only care about fun. The years in between, games had to be "epic", "serious", "breathtaking", or "competitive" to make me enjoy. Not anymore though. I don't have much free time, and I'd rather just chill and have fun when I'm playing. I guess that's the hook for most people, if it helps you understand :)

If you want all those new Amiibos, you can preorder them as of right now on Best Buy.

Nintendo announcing Metroid: Samus return is awesome news, it's kind of a remake of the original NES Metroid game. I'm just kind of concerned here after what i've heard WHAT Tanabe said about Metroid 4 for SWITCH.

“Personally I’d like to create a story centering around Sylux and Samus. We’ve done a story based on the Hunters, and this time around we’re doing a story on the Galactic Federation. I would like to cross the two over in the future. And of course see a little more of Samus.”

First of all, Sylux while mysterious, is a lil bit overrated, i would love seeing an origin story for Samus and know a little bit more about the bird-like Aliens the Chozos. I think a story about how Samus came to be is more interesting and creative than go after a random Bounty hunter.

AND ONE MORE THING: The game's name is Metroid, for what?? Is it imply that all the adventures of Samus the bounty hunter will be related to those stupid Metroid all over the galaxy??

Avatar image for NorseLax09

@mannyc5: Metroid: Samus Returns is actually a remake of the GameBoy game Metroid II: Return of Samus, not the NES Metroid.

Avatar image for mannyc5

@NorseLax09: You're right. Thanks!!!

Anyone else having a problem watching the full Nintendo video from yesterday? When I tried last night to click on the link from the calendar page ( I kept getting pushed to the live feed of Phil Spencer. When I try now, I get a page with "Börk Börk Börk! Let’s meke-a pancakes." On it.

Avatar image for vampbl

I liked it but I was hoping for the announcement of the date for the localized version of Monster Hunter XX, although I know is not pretty popular here :S.

Avatar image for Elranzer

It doesn't seem like a LOT until you consider that all of these games are due for THIS year... kinda glad they didn't go the Sony route of announcing games we won't see until 2020.

Avatar image for deactivated-595609fc31213

@Elranzer: most of the games on the Sony list say 2017, 2018 release. This list can't be justified it's pretty poor considering the switch has 5 odd decent games on it.

Avatar image for professor_megaman

I was pretty disappointed by the Metroid Prime 4 announcement until they redeemed themselves by adding Samus Returns.

Looking at Super Mario Odyssey, I bet I could spend more time playing it than I have with Zelda: BotW. If that's possible.

The amiibo offerings are pretty neat, but too bad there will be no hope in getting them. You still can't get the BotW amiibo except on the secondary market. They need to up production, especially with GameStop downsizing their amiibo sections in the wake of the Animal Crossing failure.

Avatar image for boodleout

Can i just remind you before you get excited... they annouced that they JUST STARTED development of metroid prime 4. We won't see it till 2020 or later.

Dont be excited about that. Thats stupid as hell. Announcing that they just started developing metroid and pokemon for the swtitch while the rest of the convention is showing upcoming games is nothing to brag about. Only shows how little they have to offer.

Avatar image for h0d0rr

@boodleout: They showed 4 games to be released this year and two which are in development which are TBC which is very similar to what every other dev was showing. I get it, you don't like Nintendo, but that's an odd thing to get salty about.

Xbox 1 S, then Xbox 1 X.

No smash on the switch?!!

Avatar image for Cashmoney007

Nintendo won!

Pokémon being announced on the Switch!

RL on the Go!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 gameplay!

Fire Emblem Warriors(It needs less sword users though)

Metroid Prime 4 announcement!

Metroid 2D in the 3DS!

Super Mario Odyssey gameplay!

Avatar image for boodleout

@Cashmoney007: dude. Release dates matter.

Nintendo did not win. Many of the announcements were already known.

Whatabout simple wiiu ports to expand game library?

What about virtual console?

Tired of fans boys

Avatar image for h0d0rr

@boodleout: Who won in your opinion then?

Avatar image for CrillanK

@boodleout: A lot of people are bitching about the WiiU ports and here you are asking for more. It has nothing to do with being fan boys, it's simply a matter of opinion. Also, E3 is for moving gaming forward and giving us awesome new stuff to look forward to. F the VC. No one else dropped a bomb like 2 Metroid games either.

Avatar image for deactivated-595609fc31213

@boodleout: xenoblade chronicles X would have me happy, hopefully it won't take long but I have serious doubts. Nintendo 64 VC took ages for wii u.

Avatar image for Cashmoney007

@boodleout: Here we go.....

What great games did Sony or MS show? I am a big Sony fan, but they did not have an impressive conference. MS had a bit better conference than Sony. All the conferences had a few cool games, but Nintendo deserves to win because of Metroid.

Avatar image for deactivated-595609fc31213

@Cashmoney007: Lmao

Avatar image for Cashmoney007

@doctorstone89: It is quite funny. Certain people will never respect Nintendo even though the marketing continues to get better for The Switch. They would rather continue to bash Nintendo even though many of their games are fun for all ages.

Avatar image for deactivated-595609fc31213

@Cashmoney007: you're just an out of touch fan boy, if someone was a big god of war fan and the game was previously unannounced would Sony have won for showing a simple god of war logo? To some fan boys of Sony, yes. Look I've got a switch and I wasn't overly impressed. They had a good conference and a lot of great names were announced but at the same time the console has been released with yet again a severe lack of games. It's promising but until I see the result Nintendo hasn't won anything.

Avatar image for Cashmoney007

@doctorstone89: I am not out of touch on anything. Nintendo deserves to win this year. This has nothing to do with being biased. People like you just make my head hurt. Lol

Avatar image for deactivated-595609fc31213

@Cashmoney007: lmao

I'm anxious about the Amiibos now. I searched daily for those last Zelda ones and by the time they suddenly and without warning went up for sale, they were gone. Sell them or don't, but quit with the fake shortage crap.

Avatar image for ginxeno

i even forgot that they didn't announce Virtual Console yet on E3

Avatar image for wicked_laugh

I enjoy tig ol pixel bitties as much as the next nerd, but the heroine in XC2 looks extremely weirdly shaped. Almost like Monolift just updated Lara's character model from the first Tomb Raider; a stick with funbags. Won't stop me from buying the game, but still... they really went full anime on this one.

Avatar image for da_chub

Every time I see an article that is "blank" game is not coming to switch, I just want to say that metroid, Zelda, Mario, xenoblade, etc... not coming PS4, X1, and pc.

And now that rocket league coming with skyrim, then my PS4 will be collecting dust for quite a while.

Avatar image for huehuebrbr

Just came here to see the most toxic and dumb community on gaming sites crying. And i found a lot of salt, cry more haters!

Avatar image for perfect_chao

@huehuebrbr: You ever visited IMDB? I hate that place with a passion, inaccurate scores and morons rating 1-2 stars for stupid reasons on some good stuff. Guess that's all reviews for ya in a nutshell with all entertainment, it's all subjective.

Avatar image for deactivated-5a53d25019149

@huehuebrbr: Really? Cause there isn't enough salt to even have a margarita.

Avatar image for water1

@huehuebrbr: you are part of this. We can handke the heat.

Avatar image for Barighm

Give'em what they want. Good job, Nintendo.

Avatar image for xenomorphalien

Nintendo won E3 lol

Avatar image for Pyrosa

No SNES Classic?

What could possibly go wrong?

Avatar image for angrycreep

@Pyrosa: Gamescom is just a little over 2 months away I'm sure that they save those news for that show. August 22 to the 26th to be more exact

Avatar image for the-games-masta

Only Nintendo could win E3 with no new IP

Avatar image for gamespotaddct

@the-games-masta: it was decent

Avatar image for bdrtfm

Very short presentation but, what they did show was pretty good. Metroid was all I wanted to hear. No Metroid, no buy is what I've been saying. Yeah it could be years off like they did with Zelda and it's not the side scroller I wanted but at least they are working on a Metroid! Super Mario Odyssey looks like a lot of fun too.

Avatar image for angrycreep

@bdrtfm: Didn't you hear that they making a remake of Metroid 2? Is not a brand new game but is something.
