Nintendo is experimenting with some interesting microtransaction models in this upcoming baseball game

  • You can download the base game for free, but you can haggle down the real-world price of extra minigame add-ons. Prices start at $4.

NES Remix gets a sequel

  • This version will include titles from later in the NES's lifecycle, including Super Mario Bros. 3 and Metroid.
  • You'll also be able to play through the entire original Super Mario Bros....but as Luigi and backwards.

Child of Light

  • The stylistic, downloadable RPG is coming to Wii U on April 30.
  • Price: $14.99

Game Boy Advance games on virtual console are closer to becoming a reality. The first titles should come out sometime this spring. Games currently on deck include:

  • Metroid Fusion
  • Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
  • Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

On the Japan Nintendo Direct, the following games were announced for, of course, Japan:

  • Mario Advance 2
  • Wario Ware, Advance Wars,
  • Golden Sun
  • F-Zero

We also got another look at the still-untiled Wii U game (currently just called X) from Xenoblade Chronicles director Tetsuya Takahashi.

And Bayonetta 2 got a new, extended trailer. The game will be released in Japan sometime in 2014, but no release date has been announced for the US.
