Despite being a sequel in name, it appears the game actually takes place before the events of the original. Set in the year 2005, Deadly Premonition 2 sees York a small town in New Orleans called Le Carré. Not much gameplay was shown, but it appears that it's once again an open-world adventure where you can travel the world. Early footage showed driving a boat through a lake.

Subsequently, Deadly Premonition director Hidetaka Suehiro, also known as Swery65, confirmed he is returning to work on the game. He'll serve as both director and writer on Deadly Premonition 2.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020. And yes, we're just as shocked as you are.
