Nintendo Delays Zelda, No New Date
It had to happen on April Fools' Day, but this time, it isn't a joke.
TOKYO - Nintendo Co. Ltd. officially announced via its web site that its upcoming titles Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Banjo and Kazooie will be delayed. Both titles are now slated for a fall release. Unfortunately this is not an April Fools' joke.
This could push back the release date for Zelda 64 in the US as well - earlier thought to be September. Now, with the Japanese release not appearing until the blanket date of "fall," it could easily be late 1998 or even early 1999 before we see the game. Hopefully all this waiting will pay off, and we'll have another Miyamoto masterpiece.
