A spin-off of the classic Nintendo 64 game, New Pokemon Snap takes players to the Lental region where they can explore various islands and snap photos of Pokemon in the wild. The photos you take will build up your Photodex, and Nintendo promises that you'll be able to discover "new, never-before-seen Pokemon expressions and behaviors."

As with the previous game, New Pokemon Snap is an on-rails adventure. Your auto-driving NEO-ONE vehicle will guide you along as you take pictures.

"Players will be able to interact with Pokémon by throwing a Fluffruit, a tasty fruit found across the region, to catch their attention or watch them eat," Nintendo said in the announcement. "You can even use this fruit to help draw out Pokémon into a variety of situations to see how they react."

The new game is being developed by Bandai Namco Studios, which has also partnered with Nintendo on other exclusive series such as Super Smash Bros.

In other Nintendo news, the company has confirmed that Super Nintendo World in Japan will no longer open in February due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
