New Pokemon Snap for Nintendo Switch is coming in April, but you can watch a brand-new trailer right now.

Nintendo has announced a release date for one of its next big Switch exclusives. New Pokemon Snap will arrive on April 30, the company has confirmed.

Nintendo also released a brand-new trailer to celebrate the release date announcement, which you can watch below. What's more, as of January 14, Nintendo has begun to accept pre-orders for New Pokemon Snap, so you can secure a copy right now. For more, check out GameSpot's New Pokemon Snap preorder guide.

A spin-off of the classic Nintendo 64 game, New Pokemon Snap takes players to the Lental region where they can explore various islands and snap photos of Pokemon in the wild. The photos you take will build up your Photodex, and Nintendo promises that you'll be able to discover "new, never-before-seen Pokemon expressions and behaviors."

As with the previous game, New Pokemon Snap is an on-rails adventure. Your auto-driving NEO-ONE vehicle will guide you along as you take pictures.

"Players will be able to interact with Pokémon by throwing a Fluffruit, a tasty fruit found across the region, to catch their attention or watch them eat," Nintendo said in the announcement. "You can even use this fruit to help draw out Pokémon into a variety of situations to see how they react."

The new game is being developed by Bandai Namco Studios, which has also partnered with Nintendo on other exclusive series such as Super Smash Bros.

In other Nintendo news, the company has confirmed that Super Nintendo World in Japan will no longer open in February due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

How many Pokemon games do we really need? It be nice if Nintendo would move some focus to all the classic, forgotten games. Maybe F-Zero, Punch Out, Kid Icarus, or Star Fox? My Switch is mainly a dust collector.

If it actually looks like this in the game, it should be a gorgeous game.

Snap looks like how the wild area should've been in SwSh.

@stunningham: One can only hope. But I don't hold out much hope for Gamefreak doing what fans want. They haven't even added the feature of companion Pokemon following around the user (Outside of Armor).

Maybe they will surprise us with the Diamond and Pearl remakes though.
