A new Nintendo 2DS color is on the way, but it may not be available where you live.

Nintendo of Japan has announced a white/yellow version of the handheld. Bundled with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. 2, it is scheduled to launch in Japan on December 15. It's priced at ¥11,980, which comes out to around $113 (via Kotaku). There is no word yet on if this bundle will come to other markets.

In other news about the 2DS, Nintendo announced that sales of the device rocketed up over 500 percent in August 2016 compared to August 2015. Nintendo said this dramatic increase in part the result of the price cut down to $80 that went into effect in May. "Excitement for the Pokemon brand" was also cited, which is almost certainly a reference to Pokemon Go.

The system launched in 2013, priced at $130. The first price cut, in August 2015, brought the system down to $100, with May's price cut bringing it down to $80.

The 2DS plays almost the entire library of Nintendo 3DS games, but of course without the 3D effect. The system's standout feature is its design. Unlike past models, this one does not have any hinges.

Available color options for the 2DS in the US include blue, red, sea green, crystal blue, and crystal red, among others.
