LOS ANGELES--For several weeks now, confirmation of rumors about a new version of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden have been hiding in the shadows of mere speculation. The questionable existence of the new Ryu Hayabusa adventure, titled Ninja Gaiden Black, spawned many theories about its content.

Some thought the game would be an Xbox 360 Gaiden, while others believed it was more likely a deluxe edition of the slashfest with the downloadable Hurricane Packs and, hopefully, new missions.

Tecmo today confirmed the latter, showing off the game on the E3 floor today. Ninja Gaiden Black will indeed include 2004's Ninja Gaiden, the Hurricane Packs 1 & 2 expansions, and bonus content. But that's not all. Black will also contain bonus difficulty modes, new cutscenes, and the arcade version of the original Ninja Gaiden, known as Ninja Ryukenden.

Ninja Gaiden Black sneaks onto the Xbox in September. No pricing information has been released yet. For more information on the game, head over to GameSpot's full review.
