THQ today announced that NHRA Drag Racing 2005 is currently in development for the PlayStation 2. The game will put players into the cockpits of some of the fastest vehicles on wheels, including top fuel dragsters, pro stock cars, and funny cars. Gamers will be able to race against professionals Tony Schumacher, Larry Dixon, and Greg Anderson in drag racing hotspots such as Pomona, California and Gainesville, Florida on their quest for the NHRA Championship crown. Gamers will also be able to tune their ride's performance and give their crew chief the boot if he's not doing a good job. Developer Lucky Chicken recently worked on Underworld for the PS2 and Tonka: Rescue Patrol for the GameCube. NHRA Drag Racing 2005 is scheduled to burn rubber in the summer of 2005.
