Next Battlefield V Closed Alpha Date Possibly Leaked

And it's right around corner.

Another Battlefield V closed alpha is on the way for PC and thanks to an apparent Origin client leak we may know when to expect it. An image on Origin (below) briefly teased pre-loading for August 13 at 1 AM PDT. That date is a Monday, so if the image was accurate, it's likely the actual alpha would begin late next week.

The last alpha ran in late June and kicked off on a Thursday. It was invitation-only and distributed strictly to a small group of players, so it's likely the next would be too. Participants were able to try out Conquest and Grand Operation: Fall of Norway modes. Conquest is the classic Battlefield team versus match, while Grand Operation is a narrative mode that brings together multiple maps and game types. DICE has not announced whether the next alpha will use the same maps and modes.

These alpha tests are meant to give the studio important feedback and data ahead of the game's official launch. It said the last test gave it important information about back-end systems, matchmaking, and latency. It also ran into problems with keeping squads together during matches, and committed to fixing that issue before launch.
