The next Avengers movie, 2018's Infinity War, is now filming. Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy and has a part in Infinity War, confirmed this in an interview with Collider. The superhero film is shooting in Atlanta, the same location as previous installments.

Bautista went to on joke about the size and scope of Infinity War as it relates to the number of Marvel characters who will appear in it. "I don't think anybody who is a current [Marvel] character is not going to be in Infinity War [laughs]," he said. "That's just my opinion. I haven't gotten confirmation on who all is going to be in the film, but I think that they're really going to go all-out on this."

Infinity War brings together lots of Marvel superheroes, including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), among others. Getting all those actors together to film sounds like it might be very challenging from a logistical perspective. The Collider interviewer wondered if Marvel might employ some movie magic with CGI to help things out. Bautista said he expects this to happen.

"I think they're going to have to because to bring in that many people who are just so busy, it's got to be a logistics nightmare," he said. "I can totally just empathize with them. I can't imagine that this is an easy task."

Also in the interview, Bautista said he's hopeful that he gets to have some scenes with Downey Jr.

"I want to work with Robert Downey Jr. He's Iron Man. He's Tony Stark, man," he said. "He's the guy! If I had to narrow down my favorite Marvel film: Iron Man. My favorite, I love it. That movie made me a fan of Iron Man, because up until then I really wasn't."

Bautista's next superhero movie is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which comes out this summer.

Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. It will be followed by an untitled Avengers film in 2019.
