Next Assassin's Creed 2D Games Get Release Dates
Coming next year.
Ubisoft has announced the release dates for its next batch of 2D Assassin's Creed games.
In addition, Ubisoft will release an Assassin's Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack that comes with India and Russia, as well as China, which was released earlier this year. This package will debut on February 9 for the platforms mentioned above, while a PlayStation Vita version will arrive on April 5.
The India- and Russia-set games see players taking on the roles of Arbaaz Mir and Nikolaï Orelov from the Assassin's Creed graphic novels. The India-focused game takes place during the Sikh Empire as it prepares for battle, while the Russia game is set in the aftermath of the Red October revolution.
The Assassin's Creed Chronicles series is developed by Climax Studios (Silent Hill: Shattered Memories) with support from Ubisoft Montreal.
Here are the complete descriptions for India and Russia, written by Ubisoft:
Assassin's Creed Chronicles India:
"The second episode, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, throws players into the tension between the Sikh Empire and the East India Company in 1841. When a Master Templar arrives with a mysterious item that used to belong to the Assassin Order, Arbaaz Mir must discover why the Templar has come, steal back the item and protect his friends and his lover."
Assassin's Creed Chronicles Russia:
"The final episode, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, takes place in 1918 when Assassin Nikolaï Orelov must complete one last mission for the Assassin Order before he can leave with his family. His mission: infiltrate the house where the tsar’s family is being held by the Bolsheviks and steal an artifact that has been fought over by Assassins and Templars for centuries. While too late to save the tsar’s entire family, he manages to save the princess, Anastasia, whom he must protect as he escapes the Templars with her and the artifact in tow."
You can buy thee Assassin's Creed Chronicles games for $10 each through digital channels. The Trilogy Pack sells for $30, meaning it's more of a convenience bundle than anything else.
