The next Arma III campaign episode will launch on January 21, developer Bohemia Interactive announced today. The "Adapt" episode is the second campaign expansion, and will pick up where the "Survive" add-on left off.

Arma III's campaign, called The East Wind, will unfold over three episodes: Survive, Adapt, and Win. The first episode introduced players to Ben Kerry, a soldier on a NATO peacekeeping mission who is stranded on the island of Stratis after a botched withdrawal attempt.

"While the first part of the campaign focused on the basics of infantry combat, this second 'Adapt' episode plays with the other cool features of Arma 3's sandbox," Arma III content lead Jaroslav Kasny said. "Players will find more open and unorthodox scenarios, and with the help of guerrilla warfare, set out to defeat a much stronger enemy."

All Arma III campaign episodes are free. Arma III originally launched in September without a campaign. The first campaign episode, Survive, was added at the end of October.

Bohemia Interactive also announced today that it will release the Adapt episode's new sandbox content for all players ahead of the expansion's official release. Included in the package are three vehicles: the Wy-55 Hellcat helicopter, the FV-720 Mora vehicle, and the MBT-52 tank.

In addition, black versions of the MX rifle, infra-red grenades, and the LRPS sniper scope will be made available to players via automatic update on Steam on Wednesday, December 11. For more on Arma III, check out GameSpot's review.
